Dear Friends,

The CLEAR Trust volunteer Board of Directors is inspired and energized by your generous, enthusiastic support for our mission. Simply stated, CLEAR Trust, certified by the IRS as a 501c3 charitable organization, seeks donations to provide a rapid response fund for the purposes of preventing and/or addressing invasive species infiltrations.  Thank you for supporting this effort.

Since its establishment in the fall of 2023, CLEAR Trust has:

  • Refined effective governance practices with the goal of continuous improvement

  • Worked to minimize expenses and maximize the impact of donations

  • Sought to provide clear, transparent communication with donors

  • Raised over $70,000 from local residents, the Unity Conservation Commission and the Acworth Conservation Commission

  • Agreed to a funding request from the Crescent Lake Association Board of Directors for a Watershed Management Plan conducted by Stone Engineering at a cost of $52,650. (CLEAR Trust also paid for a legal review of the document prior to making a commitment.)

  • Scheduled monthly Board meetings to review goals, establish priorities, highlight challenges and implement a vision for securing the long-term health of Crescent Lake.

We thank Terry Mattson, a founding Board member who has stepped aside after a year of service, and welcome Dale Gilpin to the Board.   The CLEAR Trust Board also acknowledges the Water Quality Group and the CLA Board for working to coordinate a combined effort on behalf of Lake residents.

The CLEAR Trust Board extends profound gratitude to each donor for becoming a partner in our mission.  The success of this first year would not be possible without your generous, thoughtful commitment to help preserve the magic of Crescent Lake.  Hopefully you will continue your support going forward as we seek to expand our donor base and prepare for the inevitable challenges that lie ahead.  We encourage you to contact us with questions, comments or suggestions.

Best wishes for a safe, healthy summer on the Lake that meets your hopes and aspirations.

Tom Farmen , Brian Boardman, Colleen Kaftan, Grant Freeland, Dale Gilpin
